WGM Group’s Bozeman team displays its Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business award from the League of American Bicyclists.

Recently, the League of American Bicyclists recognized WGM Group’s Bozeman office with a Bronze Bicycle Friendly Business (BFB) award, earning it a place alongside over 1,400 businesses across the country contributing to the movement to build a more Bicycle Friendly America.

“We are pleased to honor these new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses, who are helping to get more people on bikes in ways that highlight that the benefits of biking go beyond just the individual or the workplace and into our communities,” said Bill Nesper, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. “This round of awards includes companies and organizations connecting the people who bike in their community to accessible bike share, safe riding resources, group riding opportunities, and so much more. As always, it is a reminder that our vision of an America where every person can safely and easily choose to bike is rooted in every part of a community.”

WGM Group joins 32 total new and renewing BFBs in the League’s latest round of business awards and 1,471 total BFBs nationwide, including everything from government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, bike shops, and other employers, all united in a commitment to transform American workplaces to be more welcoming to both customers and employees who bike. The Bicycle Friendly Business award recognizes an organization’s contributions in shifting up and accelerating the movement to build a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone.

“Bicycle Friendly Businesses are an integral part of our larger movement to make bicycling a safe, accessible, and fun option no matter where or what your destination is. When more people recognize the benefits of bicycling, the movement grows stronger,” said Nesper. “We’re proud that WGM Group and businesses like it are not only recognizing and embracing the benefits of bicycling but are working in tandem with local organizations, city officials, and other businesses to promote it as well.”

Being bike friendly is one of the ways that we are working together to build better communities that are safer, healthier, and more sustainable places to live, work, and play. WGM Group encourages bicycling as an easy option for transportation and provides amenities such as our centrally-located office in downtown Bozeman with excellent adjacent bike infrastructure and incentives such as financial reimbursements for commute trips made via walking, biking, carpooling, or using transit.

I am proud to work for a company that practices what we preach in terms of creating more bike friendly communities around Montana. Being able to share the joy of biking with my colleagues and clients is truly rewarding. It is exciting that we are being recognized for our commitment to build a more bike friendly America for everyone.

As part of the BFB network, WGM Group will have access to a variety of tools and technical assistance from the League to become even more welcoming to people who bike. When employees bike, great things happen: a fun and healthy work culture is created, our carbon footprint is decreased, and we experience firsthand the benefits of planning and designing more equitable transportation networks.
