WGM Group’s architectural and engineering (A&E) team sets the surroundings for the facilities at the heart of our communities. While our architect partners focus on buildings and how they function, our A&E team ensures the overall site is attractive, functional, and safe for the public, whether they’re on foot, bike, bus, or personal vehicle.
We work on a range of projects both urban and rural – institutions such as hospitals, universities, and school campuses; commercial projects including your favorite stores and restaurants; and residential projects where we live and grow.
The A&E team is an essential part of a project’s success. We come on during a project’s early stages to review regulations and policies that will weigh in on land use and details like parking requirements and landscaping. We look at the big picture of traffic circulation, trail connectivity, and where utilities will connect. As a project moves into design, we move into stormwater analysis and mitigation to collect, retain, and remove pollutants from stormwater runoff to protect downstream infrastructure and groundwater.
We design pedestrian routes to building entrances, site features, and public rights-of-way that are accessible to all and compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We design driveways and roads, sewer, water, power, and communications locations and coordinate for permitting and approval of these services. We also maintain the big picture view of overall landscape design and function.
Once a project is ready for construction, we work closely with the owner-designer-contractor team to make sure the project is built efficiently, correctly, and is ultimately ready for occupancy.
