WGM Group Gets National Recognition

Brooks / South / Russell Intersection Improvement project recently placed as a national finalist in the 2008 American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Engineering Excellence Awards. WGM Group was the only company for the state of Montana to be recognized. This project has also won three other awards including the Grand Project Award in the 2008 ACEC Montana competition.

A Look at Missoula's Street Lighting

At WGM Group, we continue to believe that street lighting is one of the most important public infrastructure needs in Missoula to make our streets complete. WGM Group is in the process of analyzing the City of Missoula's street lighting system to determine whether or not the City's residents are receiving value from the current system, or if there is a better way to light the streets and sidewalks of Missoula.

Ravalli County Applying for Bridge Grant

Due to a deteriorating structure, the bridge spanning over Sweathouse Creek on Pleasant View Drive, northwest of Victor has been limited to an 8-ton capacity. The county will be seeking a grant to help pay for a new bridge.

As a community, we have a problem. Our population growth has outpaced our transportation infrastructure. As a result, traffic has gotten worse. Traffic affects everyone. It affects how we work, spend money and choose to live. It's part of our decision when visiting friends, or take a position on political issues, such as the environment. And it affects how we feel about our town. Transportation is at the root of everything we do.

Missoula Releases Urban Fringe Development Project Area Maps

The Office of Planning and Grants is currently working on the Urban Fringe Development Area project to provide governing bodies with information for addressing growth in the Urban Fringe Area within a regional context. The goal is to identify where growth is mostly to occur within the Urban Fringe Area, and develop implementation strategies for addressing growth in accordance with adopted policy within growth areas.
