5th/6th/Maurice/Arthur Information
On Tuesday December 7th a successful public meeting was held about the 5th/6th/Arthur and Maurice Intersection Safety and Circulation Improvement Project. About 70 interested residents attended the meeting to hear from WGM Group engineers, the City of Missoula and the University of Montana. The audience came well informed with thoughtful questions.
After a long battle of trying to improve this intersection, changes are finally coming to the area. WGM Group traffic engineer, Mark Bancale P.E. led the meeting and stressed that the project is for safety improvements above all else. The total cost of the project is a mere $1.75 Million; the University is picking up most of the costs through an SID assessed on its own property.
The public is encouraged to submit comments and suggestions as soon as possible in order to address them before the project is submitted to the Montana Department of Transportation for review in January.
